Designed for clients
Faegre Drinker is a firm designed for clients. We opened our doors on February 1, 2020, uniting Faegre Baker Daniels and Drinker Biddle & Reath, two firms known for exceptional legal and consulting capabilities and a commitment to service excellence. Clients are at the start — and the heart — of everything we do.
With more than 1,300 experienced attorneys, consultants and professionals in 21 locations in the United States, London and Shanghai, we have the strength to solve your most complex transactional, litigation and regulatory challenges wherever you need us. We partner with clients ranging from emerging startups to multinational corporations, delivering comprehensive and customized advice that advances your most ambitious business objectives.
Our culture is firmly rooted in relentless client focus and mutual trust that empowers collaboration. We listen to understand your priorities and pressure points. We bring you fresh ideas that work. Our Global Reach
A 2021 Midyear Update From Our Co-Chairs
At Faegre Drinker, we are incrementally reopening our offices in alignment with CDC, state and local guidance and continue to prioritize the health of our colleagues and guests. We are pleased to welcome colleagues and visitors back to 17 of our Faegre Drinker offices reopened in Phase 1 of our Return to Onsite Work Plan, and we have modified our health and safety guidelines for colleagues and guests who opt to provide proof of vaccination. We hope to connect in-person soon if you are visiting our reopened offices.
It has been a busy start to 2021 across our firm. We continue to be engaged in interesting and challenging work on behalf of our clients, whose businesses have evolved in so many ways over the last 15 months. We were pleased to promote 17 colleagues to the firm’s partnership and to welcome a class of 46 new associates in January of this year. We have also welcomed 17 lateral partners, nine lateral counsel and 21 lateral associates across our U.S. and London offices in the first half of the year, further strengthening our ability to serve clients.
We were pleased to be recognized across numerous practices by Chambers USA, earning individual rankings for 155 Faegre Drinker attorneys, state-level rankings for 53 practices and nationwide rankings for 14 practices — including Elite designations for our health care and product liability teams, and Highly Regarded recognitions for our mergers and acquisitions and government contracts practices. Faegre Drinker was included in the top 3% of law firms providing excellent client service as part of BTI’s Client Service A-Team 2021 report and was recognized as one of the “Best Law Firms for Women” by Seramount (formerly Working Mother Media). Like everything we do, these recognitions would not be possible without the support of our clients, and we are grateful for your continued trust.
Faegre Drinker also continued to hold important conversations around justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. We welcomed Equal Justice Initiative Founder and Executive Director Bryan Stevenson in February and author and education leader Frank Wu in April for important conversations regarding racial equality and the path forward. We celebrated National Asian Pacific Heritage Month in May and are recognizing the contributions of our LGBTQ+ colleagues during Pride Month in June. Faegre Drinker observed Juneteenth as a holiday across our U.S. offices this year and encouraged colleagues to use this time to reflect on our ongoing and important work to combat racism in all its forms.
The events and work of this year build on the strong foundation established in 2020. Faegre Drinker’s 2020 Annual Report details some of the accomplishments achieved with clients and one another during our first year as a combined firm. We strive for excellence without arrogance and invite you to review our 2020 Annual Report to better understand the capabilities and culture of our combined firm.
As we reach the midpoint of 2021, we thank you for your continued support and hope to see many of you in the months ahead — whether virtually or in person. In the meantime, we wish you a pleasant summer.
