Rail Operator Plans $400M Expansion of Passenger Rail Line

A regional passenger rail operator is embarking on an approximately $400 million public construction project to expand an existing passenger rail line from Chicago, Illinois to South Bend, Indiana. The Double Track project is part of the rail operator's $1.1 billion capital program, which is being partially financed using New Starts grant funds from the Federal Transit Authority.
