Overview

Kelly Horein assists clients with all aspects of brand management, including domestic and international trademark clearance, registration, and enforcement. When litigation is necessary, she handles disputes, including trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and trademark litigation in federal court. In addition, Kelly prepares and negotiates intellectual property agreements and assesses product packaging for compliance. She is also a regular contributor to the firm’s brand protection blog.

Kelly manages major global trademark portfolios in a wide range of industries. In particular, she has led the restructuring of the worldwide trademark portfolio of a Fortune 100 consumer goods company. She has also handled the assignment of more than 550 trademarks in over 140 countries in connection with the reorganization of a leading beverage company.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Kelly enjoys playing the cello and performs with the D.C. Concert Orchestra.
