Overview

Kiara Covarrubias helps cultivate the legal ground for public and private companies to grow and flourish financially. Kiara brings rich experience in investment management, providing support during fund launches and the sale of portfolio properties, and advising limited partners on the legal terms of funds for which they have signaled interest. Specific to the registered fund front, Kiara has worked on registration statements, from the initial drafting to subsequent amendments and addressing SEC comments, calling on her experience with public companies to interpret SEC rules. She has further experience drafting documents for registered fund organizational meetings.

Kiara has ushered a wide range of deals, including one worth more than $2 billion, into fruition. She has also run point on regulatory securities matters in connection with end-of-year reporting for public companies. 

Past Experience

Kiara is a former intern for Faegre Baker Daniels. She brings a holistic approach to corporate challenges, having supported the corporate, real estate, and labor and employment groups.

In her previous life, Kiara worked as a Kamenir health advocacy fellow for Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles, advocating for English- and Spanish-speaking clients. She also served as a culturally responsive teaching fellow and Teach for America Corps member at an elementary school in San Antonio, Texas.

These collective experiences enable Kiara to anticipate and thoughtfully handle the public perception issues that may attend high-stakes business decisions.
