Norman Pentelovitch Profiled in Minnesota Lawyer’s ‘Breaking the Ice’ Feature

Litigation partner Norman Pentelovitch was profiled in Minnesota Lawyer’s latest “Breaking the Ice” feature, highlighting his legal career, civic involvement, and role as president of the Hennepin County Bar Association.

Reflecting on what inspired him to pursue law, Pentelovitch shared that growing up with a father who was a lawyer and an upbringing rooted in social justice and civil rights led him to view the profession as a way to solve problems and take action on complex issues.

Pentelovitch explained that the best part of the job is “collaborating on a team to think it through and solve a problem.” He added, “I feel fortunate as part of a profession full of curious people who do want to engage deeply on problems.”

When asked about a common misconception about his practice, Pentelovitch responded, “That we litigators love to fight. I don’t see what we do as being oriented to fighting. It does involve friction and tension and taking positions different than someone else. I view it as who do I need to convince to win this? It’s about taking what you need and representing it to the best of your ability.”
