Overview

Stanton Williams represents clients in employment, privacy, and commercial disputes in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums. He also advises employers on compliance matters and risk management.

Employment Litigation

He collaborates with the employment litigation team to defend employers in federal and state courts across the country. Stanton represents clients at all stages of litigation — from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and state administrative agencies to federal courts.

Stanton defends clients in disputes involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and state statutory and common law claims. He also handles matters involving restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and other intellectual property-related disputes.

Employment Counseling & Investigations

Stanton advises clients on a range of employment matters, with a focus on interpreting federal and state statutes and regulations to help employers assess risk and ensure compliance. His counsel includes reviewing and developing employment policies, evaluating contracting and disciplinary practices, and providing strategic guidance on day-to-day workplace issues.

Privacy Litigation & Arbitration

Stanton also defends companies in individual and class action lawsuits, as well as mass arbitrations, involving key federal privacy statutes such as the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), along with related state laws like the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA).

Prior Experience

Before joining the firm, Stanton clerked for Judge Jeffery P. Hopkins of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. While clerking, he assisted on all manner of civil and criminal matters. 

Personal Interests

In his free time, Stanton enjoys spending time with family and sports analytics and strategy-based games, including casual poker with friends.
