Jessica L. Van Dalen



Jessica Van Dalen works with clients to prepare and prosecute patent applications. Jessica practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as government entities in Japan, Europe, Canada, Mexico, China and Australia. She collaborates with clients on licensing agreements, portfolio analysis, opinion work related to infringement and patent invalidity and post-grant proceedings. A former engineer, Jessica has particular proficiency in mechanical, material and chemical arts technology.

Past Experience

During law school, Jessica worked as a summer associate at Faegre Baker Daniels and summer clerk at an Indianapolis firm.

Before law school, Jessica served as a co-op engineer with Raybestos Products Co., gaining experience in heavy-duty friction materials used for automotive and agricultural vehicle applications. She also worked as an engineering research assistant at Purdue University, focusing on adhesive formulation and testing.
