Overview
Ian Thresher is a white-collar litigator with significant experience in complex, cross-border Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and financial fraud investigations.
White Collar Defense & Investigations
Ian has conducted FCPA investigations in Brazil, Vietnam, India, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and he has a strong grasp of the particular compliance challenges unique to each. He has led both on-site and remote interviews of key personnel, navigated privacy and data retention issues that frequently crop up during cross-border investigations, and can effectively provide succinct and clear advice to clients on next steps and potential pitfalls.
Ian also has experience with domestic investigations, particularly those pertaining to the False Claims Act (FCA) and Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS). He has investigative experience with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and various state regulators.
In addition to his investigations practice, Ian also has significant litigation experience. In addition to drafting motions pertaining to all phases of litigation, including summary judgment and pretrial work, and preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, Ian has been the second-chair attorney at trial and conducted direct examinations in federal court.
Personal Interests
In his spare time, Ian enjoys fantasy football, American history and backpacking. He is an avid Manchester United and Philadelphia Eagles fan.
