Overview

Vilena Nicolet is a deft strategist who advises and represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities and FCPA compliance matters. She has experience drafting complex transactional documents for asset, stock, real estate and financing transactions.

Vilena is also experienced in conducting due diligence (including FCPA due diligence) and takes pride in keeping clients up to speed on existing and emerging issues in corporate law, real estate law and securities law.

Past Experience

Vilena previously worked for Kaplan, Strangis and Kaplan, P.A., handling matters related to corporate governance, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. She also served as a law clerk for Judge Hilary L. Caligiuri in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District Court, a legal intern for The Advocates for Human Rights and a coordinator for the Human Rights Initiative, an educational project dedicated to human rights, which she developed and implemented with a group of volunteers and the support of the Open Society Institute.

During law school, Vilena was a corporate law research assistant and a teaching assistant in advanced real estate transactions.
