Appellate Experience
Bruce is co-chair of the firm’s appellate advocacy practice. In addition to his deep experience in briefing and oral argument, Bruce has conducted extensive appellate motion practice, pursued and resisted petitions for extraordinary writs of mandamus and prohibition, and sought and opposed discretionary appeals.
Bruce also provides extensive pre-appellate consultation to litigants in state and federal trial courts, advising and guiding on anticipated appeals, motions, jury instructions, and other arguments directed to preserving issues for appeal.
Product Liability and Toxic Torts
Bruce has defended many toxic tort and other products liability claims. He has administered and defended hundreds of asbestos cases pending in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, coordinating asbestos pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and court and attorney communications on behalf of more than 30 different companies.
