Brad Campbell Discusses House Version of the Build Back Better Act With Pensions & Investments

In “New House bill targets backdoor and mega-Roth strategies,” Pensions & Investments outlined updates to the Build Back Better Act, focusing on the House version of the bill that came out on Nov. 3 and is currently under consideration. The publication turned to benefits and executive compensation partner Brad Campbell for insight on the individual retirement account (IRA) provisions.

Campbell was not surprised the IRA provisions were added back to the bill. However, the IRA provisions won’t have nearly the impact the automatic retirement plan proposal would have, he explained. “It’s unfortunate that they kept the part that’s going to have the least effect and jettisoned the part that’s going to have the most effect,” Campbell said.
