Employer Beware: New California Employment Laws for 2021

Faegre Drinker labor and employment partner Mark Terman wrote an article for the California Society of CPAs titled “Employer Beware: New California Employment Laws for 2021.” In it, Terman explores the impact that these new laws will have on California businesses and how employers may want to revisit their employment policies and practices.

Terman covers rules and risks for California employers dealing with workplace issues related to COVID-19, diversity and discrimination, worker classification and wages, employee privacy, leaves of absence, and settlements. He then notes elements of key state Assembly Bills and Senate Bills that became law on January 1, 2021, unless otherwise noted, and that affect private employers.
