Florham Park partners Sandy Grannum and Tracey Salmon-Smith will be panelists at the SIFMA C&L Seminar in Orlando, Florida. On March 16, Tracey will discuss “Whistleblowers and Their Claims: Best Practices in Responding to Allegations” and on March 18, Sandy will explore “Litigating with Current Employees: Risks, Strategies and Best Practices.”
In the session on “Whistleblowers and Their Claims,” panelists will explore some of the best approaches for developing and implementing policy, procedures, and internal investigations, as well as ways to avoid potential retaliation claims. Conversation will also outline ways to handle allegations, including the most effective reporting channels and, when necessary, methods for defending a litigated claim.
Sandy’s panel, “Litigating with Current Employees,” will provide a detailed look at key considerations for managing litigation with current employees. Panelists will discuss issues for the complainant and the subject of the complaint; ways to avoid and handle retaliation claims; managing tricky investigations and discovery questions; the impact of the MeToo movement; and how to respond if a whistleblower is involved.Location
