Investment Management Counsel Catherine DiValentino Rejoins Faegre Drinker in Philadelphia

Faegre Drinker announced today that Catherine DiValentino has rejoined the firm’s investment management group as counsel in the Philadelphia office. DiValentino joins from Nomura Asset Management, where she was associate director and associate general counsel.

DiValentino has extensive experience guiding investment companies, investment advisers, and fund boards through the regulatory, compliance, governance, and operational issues that arise through the life of an investment product. She advises clients from initial formation and launch, through ongoing operations, reorganizations, mergers, and liquidations.

“Catherine’s background in both private practice and in-house roles gives her a unique understanding of the business considerations facing investment companies, advisers, and fund boards,” said David Williams, leader of the firm's investment management group. “Her extensive experience advising on investment products throughout their life cycle and through significant events gives her a practical perspective that will benefit our clients and our team.”

DiValentino works with open-end funds including both mutual funds and exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, interval funds, and private funds. Drawing on both inside and outside counsel experience, she helps clients navigate the securities laws and evolving Securities and Exchange Commission requirements, while finding practical solutions to novel regulatory and business issues.

DiValentino earned her bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and her Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Faegre Drinker’s investment management team advises national and multinational registered and private funds and their sponsors, investment advisers, broker-dealers, and other institutional market participants on business formation and growth. The group draws on deep in-house and industry experience to understand client businesses — and business objectives — and develop bespoke solutions that are practical and forward-thinking.
