Daily Journal Names Cheryl Orr One of California's Top Women Lawyers

Labor and employment partner and San Francisco office leader Cheryl Orr was named by the Daily Journal as one of the “Top Women Lawyers” for 2025. The Daily Journal annually recognizes women attorneys who demonstrate excellent legal and leadership skills in California. This is the eleventh time that Orr has been included on this list of leading attorneys.

In her feature profile, the Daily Journal highlights Orr’s work ethic and approach which includes thorough case assessment to determine potential exposure before developing resolution strategies. Throughout her practice, Orr maintains that thorough assessment remains the foundation of successful representation: “To drive our strategy and the ultimate resolution, we always need to dig in and assess the cases so that we can explain the potential exposure.” 

The feature also credits Orr’s prioritization of clear communication with opposing counsel to establish realistic expectations. “I am particularly adept at putting myself in our client’s shoes and driving as hard a bargain as possible,” said Orr. “I also appreciate the opportunity to help clients remediate any issues.”
