Cheryl Orr Named in Daily Journal’s 2020 “Top Labor & Employment Lawyers”

International Labor & Employment practice group and San Francisco office leader Cheryl D. Orr has been selected by the Daily Journal as one of the “Top Labor & Employment Lawyers” for 2020. The annual list features prominent California attorneys who have made significant contributions in labor and employment law. This is the sixth consecutive year Orr has been included on this list of leading lawyers.

In the profile, Orr is featured for her practice leadership and standout client service in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Orr discussed the successful integration of Faegre Drinker’s international Labor & Employment practice group following the firm’s Feb. 1 launch, and how the team has effectively collaborated to address the challenges that employers faced during and at the outset of the global pandemic. "Because we're in this situation, all of our clients were addressing COVID issues all at the same time," Orr said. "This has been a challenging time, but we've all had an opportunity to work together. We've learned just how strong our group is. Our firm is in the forefront for providing COVID-19 advice. It has been wonderful to see."

The Daily Journal also highlighted Orr’s significant labor and employment law experience, including her work in wage and hour class and collective actions, general employment litigation, and counseling on compliance and preventative measures.

"I enjoy working with people, and solving the client's problems," Orr told the publication. She added that she appreciates how labor and employment law is "multidimensional, covering wages and how people are treated."

"It involves how we spend our time. The workplace is very important, and to ensure it functions in a way that is beneficial to all."
