Drinker Biddle Names Five New Partners

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has elected five new partners of the firm. They reside in three different offices and span four of the firm’s practices.

Brief biographies of the new partners follow:

Bryan Bloom is a member of both the Corporate and Securities Group and the Private Client Group, and is based in the Florham Park office. He is an experienced transactional tax lawyer and family office counselor who assists clients with structuring, operating and disposing of portfolio assets, and transitioning the ownership of family assets, goals and legacy.

Chanda A. Miller is a member of the Products Liability Group and is based in the Philadelphia office. Her practice focuses on products liability, antitrust, and appellate litigation. Ms. Miller defends major pharmaceutical and medical device companies in multidistrict litigation, coordinated state proceedings, and individual cases involving claims of personal injury, price-fixing claims, alleged false claims act violations, and consumer protection claims.

Nolan B. Tully is a member of the Insurance Litigation Group and is based in the Philadelphia office. He is co-leader of the firm’s long-term care insurance team and represents long-term care insurers in all aspects of the product life cycle, from product development to regulatory and compliance matters, to litigation and liquidation matters. Mr. Tully also focuses his practice on representing life insurers on issues related to policy lapses, the secondary market for life insurance, premium financing, fraud, and cost of insurance issues. Mr. Tully has also assisted carriers in resolving issues relating to suitability, premium rate increases, developing antifraud programs, HIPAA, regulatory compliance and coverage issues. Finally, Mr. Tully provides counsel to clients in the financial services industry on a variety of compliance issues.

Joshua J. Waldbeser is a member of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group and is based in the Chicago office. Mr. Waldbeser works both with plan fiduciaries and service providers, including broker-dealers, insurance companies, registered investment advisers, investment funds and recordkeepers, with respect to ERISA and tax matters, including prohibited transaction issues and exemptions, as well as compliance with FINRA, SEC and other rules. He also counsels employers with respect to design and operational considerations for defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans of all types, including as to regulatory investigations, correction programs and ruling requests, and provides technical support in defending ERISA lawsuits. In addition, Mr. Waldbeser works with charitable corporations, trusts, foundations and endowments with respect to investment matters.

Adam S. Weinstock is a member of the Corporate and Securities Group and is based in the Chicago office. He represents public and private clients on a wide variety of corporate matters across many industries. Mr. Weinstock regularly assists clients with mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings and other complex commercial and governance matters.
