Overview
Our public sector finance work assists in the efficient flow of capital to state and local governments, government utilities, higher education institutions, and other tax-exempt entities, including Native American tribes and nonprofit health care systems. We represent hundreds of communities and their affiliated agencies in municipal bond transactions and short-term bank borrowings, as well as in public-private partnerships (P3s) to generate funding for public-purpose projects. As bond counsel, we opine on the validity and tax-exempt status of general obligation, revenue, tax increment, lease-revenue and private activity bonds. We also represent investment banks as underwriters’ counsel, conducting due diligence and other regulatory obligations on their behalf. As a leader in innovative financing options, our P3 advisory and transactional work helps governments cut costs, extract value, and generate revenue from public assets and programs.
