Former Indianapolis Airport General Counsel Tenley Drescher-Rhoades Rejoins Faegre Drinker’s Corporate Practice

Faegre Drinker announced today that Tenley Drescher-Rhoades has joined the firm as counsel in the corporate practice group in the Indianapolis office. She returns to the firm from the Indianapolis Airport Authority where she served as general counsel.

Drescher-Rhoades is an advisor on public finance matters. She counsels governmental entities on government operations, from regulatory and legislative issues to bond financings. Additionally, she advises private entities in interacting with government during incentives and public-private partnerships. Drescher-Rhoades has significant experience advising governmental entities during capital improvement campaigns. She also has counseled public and private entities through a variety of other economic development incentives, and on procurement, consolidation and collaboration. Drescher-Rhoades was previously with Faegre Baker Daniels from 2012 to 2019, when she served as counsel in the firm’s Indianapolis office.

“Tenley brings more than a decade of exceptional experience to our team in Indiana. With her background in both local government and private practice, she knows what it takes to keep economic development projects moving forward, helping clients deliver on project goals,” said co-leaders of the firm’s corporate practice Jim Fischer and Keith Radtke. “We are thrilled to welcome her back.”

Drescher-Rhoades has also worked with the Marion County Election Board — first as director of elections, then as outside general counsel. She oversaw elections in Indiana's largest county with more than 600,000 registered voters and more than 300 voting locations. She also served as deputy corporation counsel for the City of Indianapolis under Mayor Bart Peterson. Drescher-Rhoades managed the city's legal department, counseled the Office of the Mayor, participated in several major policy initiatives and developed expertise in election and redevelopment law.

Drescher-Rhoades earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Butler University and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she was the managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal from 1999-2000.

With 235 corporate, securities, tax and finance attorneys, Faegre Drinker’s corporate practice is one of the largest in the nation, serving as legal adviser to clients on their most strategic transactions and business decisions. Attorneys in the group have been primary securities compliance and corporate governance counsel for more than 50 public companies and are leaders in middle-market M&A, collectively working over the past three years on more than 750 transactions, with a cumulative deal value of more than $100 billion.
