Overview
Prior Experience
Prior to joining the firm, Grace served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Eric C. Tostrud, now chief judge of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota. In that role, she conducted legal research, prepared bench memoranda on dispositive motions, drafted opinions and orders in civil and criminal matters, and assisted with the management of an active federal court docket. Earlier, she completed a judicial externship in Judge Tostrud's chambers, gaining additional experience in federal litigation and judicial decision-making.
During law school, Grace developed substantial courtroom and client advocacy experience through positions with the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, the University of Minnesota Law School's Child Advocacy and Juvenile Justice Clinic, and the Minneapolis City Attorney's Office. She appeared in numerous court proceedings, drafted proposed orders and legal filings, represented clients in juvenile and family law matters, and helped supervise and mentor fellow student attorneys. These experiences provided her with practical litigation experience and a strong foundation in client counseling and advocacy.
In addition, Grace served as a research assistant to Professor E. Thomas Sullivan, researching developments in civil discovery and contributing to updates for a leading complex litigation text. This combination of judicial, litigation, and academic experience has strengthened her legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
