Overview

Zachary Wawrzyniakowski supports clients as they navigate the complexities of intellectual property matters, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation. He represents clients across a range of industries, including telecommunications, medical device, data storage solutions, software applications, and mechanical engineering.

Zach has experience in various stages of patent litigation, including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, claim construction, discovery, inter partes review petitions, collaborating on technical expert reports, motion practice, appeal and settlement. He has litigated before several tribunals, including federal district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, as well as on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Zach advises clients seeking to strengthen their patent portfolios and has experience preparing and prosecuting utility patent applications and assisting with due diligence for patent transactions.

In addition, Zach maintains an active pro bono practice, counselling clients on patent and trademark matters.

Prior Experience

Zach gained experience in patent, trademark, and copyright matters both as a 2019 summer associate with our firm, and as an intellectual property extern for another Chicago-area firm. While studying physics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, He spent two years researching the molecular interactions in lithium-sulfur batteries, which resulted in three publications.

Personal Interests

Zach enjoys running, cycling, and strategy games.
