Overview

Samantha Savala counsels clients across a range of industries throughout all phases of litigation and dispute resolution. She combines strategic legal thinking with practical experience to deliver effective guidance to clients.

Prior Experience

Samantha gained a wealth of trial and appellate litigation perspective from working in judicial chambers for two years. While in law school, she completed a year-long externship for the Honorable C.J. Williams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. After law school, Samantha clerked for the Honorable Justice Dana Oxley of the Iowa Supreme Court. During her time with the two courts, Samantha drafted bench memoranda and judicial opinions on complex civil and criminal issues at both the state and federal level.

During law school, Samantha served as a summer associate at Faegre Drinker for two summers. During her time as a summer associate, she supported attorneys with business litigation matters and performed legal research and analysis in a variety of areas. Outside of her studies, Samantha served as co-president of the student bar association, chair of the pro bono society executive board, executive editor for the Journal of Corporation Law, and volunteer for the Food Pantry at Iowa and Iowa Access to Justice Commission.

Before her career in law, Samantha worked in government, serving as a legislative clerk for the Iowa House of Representatives, an election clerk for the Polk County Auditor’s Office, and a pretrial interviewer for the Fifth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.
