Kiera advises clients in matters with hundreds of millions of dollars at issue, bringing focused industry experience in formulary design, rebate economics and guarantees, manufacturer and group purchasing organization contracting, plan design architecture, claims processing, and the regulatory frameworks governing prescription drug coverage under the ACA, Medicare, and state law.

Her experience includes leading discovery and deposition strategy for a Fortune 5 company in a commercial arbitration with billions at issue, which resolved successfully. Her work included directing the defense of depositions of several C-suite executives, managing collection from nearly 60 custodians, briefing offensive and defensive motions to compel, and coordinating extensive third-party discovery.

High-Stakes Litigation Beyond Health Care

Kiera also handles high-stakes matters outside the health care space. She is currently briefing and will argue a federal habeas appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, addressing the scope of a prison's obligation under the Due Process Clause to disclose exculpatory video evidence in disciplinary proceedings. She has also argued and won a motion to quash a nonparty deposition subpoena against opposing counsel from a Wall Street litigation firm, and has first-chaired multiple evidentiary hearings, obtaining outright wins or dismissals in each.
