Abbey Mitterhuber advises a wide range of stakeholders — including creditors, debtors, strategic investors, and insolvency practitioners — on a variety of domestic and cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters.

Abbey has worked across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions, and has experience with contingency and strategic planning, enforcement strategies, consensual restructurings, and formal insolvency processes. She regularly acts as lead associate on technically complex matters in challenging commercial and stakeholder environments.

The firm’s finance and restructuring practice has been recognized in Chambers UK 2026, Legal 500 UK 2026, and the Global Restructuring Review’s GRR 30 list for 2026. Representative Experience

Abbey has represented:

  • Elanco in relation to the restructuring of certain of the TriRx Pharmaceutical companies, which included the purchase of the business and assets of TriRx Speke Ltd (in administration).
  • The secured lender on the restructuring and new-money financing of a large residential real estate portfolio across multiples cities in Germany.
  • The Bermuda Provisional Liquidators and Joint Liquidators of digital asset lender, BlockFi International Ltd, in relation to cross-border issues arising from its Bermuda provisional liquidation and Bermuda liquidation proceedings as well as its Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States.
  • The ad hoc group of lenders in relation to the corporate and financial restructuring of the Cineworld UK group of companies.
  • GLAS Trust Corporation Limited in connection with the placing of various entities of holiday park business — the Royale Resorts group of companies — into administration, the appointment of receivers in relation to certain assets of Royale Resorts, continued negotiations with contesting creditors and counterparties, and the negotiation and settlement of claims with administrators.
  • The administrators of Babylon Group Holdings in connection with their appointment, the administration, and sale of certain assets of the business.
  • Redox Plc S.A. in relation to its bankruptcy in Luxembourg, and recognition and related litigation in Jersey.
  • Northwood Investors in relation to the distressed acquisition of an Austrian hotel out of a security enforcement sale and its subsequent restructuring.
  • A key banknote supplier and creditor in relation to the restructuring of foreign exchange company, Travelex.
  • Northwood Investors on its acquisition of Five Acre Square.
  • Bank of America in relation to its position in the Thomas Cook proposed refinancing and eventual liquidation.
  • A significant creditor in relation to its position in the restructuring of a high-profile French company.
  • A co-working and serviced-office provider in relation to out-of-court administration appointments and restructurings of its English tenant companies.
