Overview

Scott Angelo serves as Faegre Drinker’s chief technology and innovation officer, where he leads the firm’s technology strategy, oversees its security and infrastructure operations, and drives innovation to enhance client and business outcomes. With more than 30 years of experience guiding digital transformation, technology modernization and cybersecurity initiatives, Scott has delivered impactful solutions across the legal, manufacturing, government and financial services sectors.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Scott served as chief information and technology officer for several global Am Law 100 firms, leading enterprise technology modernization and digital transformation efforts. He established a client-focused, award-winning digital innovation center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, deploying automation, generative and agentic AI and data analytics, helping to enhance collaboration across the firm.

Scott has experience developing digital centers of excellence for law firms and their clients — advancing data management, analytics and security practices to drive business value. Most recently, he served as chief information officer at an Am Law 200 firm, where he was recognized as a 2024 CIO of the Year by the Pittsburgh Technology Council, 2025 Innovator of the Year Finalist for ALM’s Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards, as well as a Law Firm Innovator Finalist by The Legal Intelligencer.

Beyond the legal industry, Scott has guided IT strategy and operations for organizations in the high-tech manufacturing, government (DARPA and NASA Special Projects Office) and financial services sectors.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Scott enjoys playing golf, where he is particularly fascinated by the science behind the sport, understanding the physics of ball flight, club dynamics and the engineering of golf balls themselves. He also enjoys spending time by the lake with family, embracing the relaxing and restorative aspects of lake life. Additionally, he has a passion for motorcycle riding, which combines a love of adventure with an appreciation for the mechanics and engineering that make riding possible.
