Evaluating Elements of the Care Partner Experience in Individuals Who Care for People With Alzheimer's Disease Across the Severity Spectrum

Faegre Drinking Consulting principal Terry Frangiosa co-authored an article titled “Evaluating Elements of the Care Partner Experience in Individuals Who Care for People with Alzheimer's Disease Across the Severity Spectrum” for the journal Neurology and Therapy.

The article examines how non-professional health care partners play an important and evolving role in the care of persons living with Alzheimer’s disease (PLWAD). The authors’ study found that health care providers offer benefits to PLWAD, even in early phases of the disease. Many providers, however, reported experiencing significant strain while providing substantial amounts of care. The article concludes that early interventions that slow progression of the disease and programs designed to improve family function may have the greatest beneficial impact on the experiences of care partners for recipients with mild, moderate, or severe Alzheimer’s disease.
