Referrals Under the Final Fiduciary Rule

By Fred Reish and Joan M. Neri

Fred Reish and Joan Neri co-authored an article for PLANADVISER magazine discussing the impact of the DOL fiduciary rule on referrals. Specifically, the article discusses how the DOL fiduciary rule – once it is applicable – will cause a referral of a fiduciary investment adviser to be a fiduciary act and explores the implications of the rule and the steps referrers will need to take in order to avoid a prohibited transaction.
