The U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Windsor v. United States, striking down the federal Defense of Marriage Act, may raise more questions than it answered. The decision will extend many rights to same-sex couples, in states that recognize such marriages, but access to federal benefits may still be a challenge for couples who live in states that do not recognize same-sex marriage.
