Seeking Investment Flexibility In a 401(k)

Los Angeles Partner Fred Reish was featured in The New York Times' "Your Money" column, as columnist Ron Lieber discussed brokerage or mutual fund windows as a workplace retirement account option.

In the column, Fred said that questions remain over whether employers must conduct a "sophistication test" on employees before allowing them to select such an option.

The author wrote that employers worried about that question can create educational opportunities for employees who opt for the brokerage or mutual fund window option, when offered.  Throughout the remainder of the column, Lieber discussed employers' objections to offering such options and why those objections should be dismissed.
