Chicago Compensation Association

Overview

Chicago partners Stephanie Dodge Gournis and Sarah Bassler Millar will present a “Breakfast Briefing” for the Chicago Compensation Association on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

The presentation, titled, “Wellness Programs: A Legal Check Up for Good Design and Implementation,” will address the increasing trend of employer implementation of wellness programs to improve employee health.

Stephanie, a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group, and Sarah, of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice Group, will focus on the complex legal rules that apply to employer-provided wellness programs.

They will discuss issues arising under HIPAA, GINA, and ADA, with special emphasis on challenges created by healthcare reform and the recent Florida district court Seff v. Broward County opinion.

The seminar will provide practical tips to help attendees identify and mitigate legal risks associated with wellness programs.
