Understanding Current and Potential Uses of Patent Experience Data

Faegre Drinker Consulting principal Terry Frangiosa led a presentation at the International Society for CNS Clinical Trials and Methodology’s Autumn 2026 Conference titled “Understanding Current and Potential Uses of Patent Experience Data.”

Frangiosa highlighted new efforts targeting the inclusion of patent experience data (PED) in regulatory filings and labels. She provided examples of recent successes, particularly in the neuroscience and rare disease spaces. Frangiosa also discussed the gap between the types of patient-centered outcomes collected and those actually used by regulators or payers to support labeling claims or benefit-risk assessments, while examining key barriers to scale adoption.
