Overview
Join Faegre Drinker attorneys Kristin Halsing, Allie Kruse, and Taylor Brooke Walker for a timely webinar on state paid family and medical leave, a rapidly evolving area of state-required employee benefits. This session will provide a high-level overview of which states have paid family and medical leave laws, with emphasis on key differences in leave duration, benefits, and qualifying reasons for leave. Attendees will gain practical insights into employee benefits and protections under these laws, including wage replacement benefits, insurance continuation obligations, and notice requirements, as well as employer obligations related to wage contributions and quarterly reporting. We’ll also address how paid family and medical leave interacts with federal FMLA and employer-provided short-term disability policies, along with tips and traps to consider when drafting paid and unpaid time off policies.
