Overview

Tracey Salmon-Smith is moderating the “Practicum on Discovery Issues” at PLI’s Securities Arbitration Program. This year’s Securities Arbitration Program features FINRA dispute resolution leadership and arbitrators, as well as noted academics and experienced attorneys who represent both customers and industry. The ethical challenges involved as clients and brokers age, and diversity and inclusion and the elimination of bias in the forum will be explored, as well as the latest hot topics and future trends in securities arbitration. CLE credits are available.

The “Practicum on Discovery Issues” panel discussions will include:

  • Reviewing discovery rules and procedures
  • Understanding the role of the arbitrators in the discovery process
  • Executing orders of confidentiality
  • Learning how to produce ESI and understanding the concept of proportionality
  • Avoiding discovery abuse and possible sanctions

Skills credit for the practicum is available for New York attorneys.
