Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies 101

Florham Park partner Tracey Salmon-Smith explored “Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies 101” at the 15th Annual Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC) Career Strategies Conference on September 25, 2019. She was joined by Andrea R. Watson, group counsel at Intel Corporation, and Erica Williams, partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Tracey helped guide a wide-ranging conversation that dove into the basics of Blockchain technology and digital assets. Panelists provided an introductory overview of Blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, digital assets and virtual tokens followed by in-depth discussions of initial coin offerings, the current U.S. regulatory landscape (both state and federal), and smart contracts.
