Florham Park partner Lynne Anderson and Washington, D.C. partner Jesse Witten presented at Seton Hall Law School’s Healthcare Compliance Certification Program on October 10. Lynne and Jesse presented together on “The Perils of Dealing with Whistleblowers Under the False Claims Act,” discussing how to handle potential whistleblowers.
Lynne also participated on a panel titled “Being the Focus of a Government Investigation.” Mike Doyle of the FBI; Jacob Elberg of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of New Jersey; and Scott McBride of Lowenstein Sandler joined Lynne on the panel. Seton Hall Law School senior associate dean Timothy Glynn moderated.
The biannual program provides a comprehensive overview of state, federal and international law governing prescription drugs and medical devices. Topics include privacy and data protection, FDA approval and regulation, anti-kickback laws, health care fraud sentencing, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the False Claims Act. The four-day conference is attended by in-house counsel, compliance officers and other senior and compliance employees of pharma, life sciences and other healthcare companies.
