The Internet of Things: What’s on the Horizon for Copyright and Privacy Practitioners?

Ken Dort, partner in the Chicago office, organized and spoke on a panel at the American Bar Association’s 31st Annual Intellectual Property Conference in Bethesda, Maryland, which took place April 6-8, 2016.
Ken’s panel, titled, “The Internet of Things: What’s on the Horizon for Copyright and Privacy Practitioners?” covered issues ranging from data ownership, drone regulation, and data security to FTC enforcement actions.
Ken presented on privacy and data security issues raised by the growing use of IoT technology in both the consumer and commercial sectors, focusing on the household, health care, manufacturing, transportation and construction sectors.
Ken serves as Chair of the ABA’s Committee on Online Data Security and Transactions, which sponsored the panel.
