DOMA and Prop 8 Implications for Employers

Overview

In the landmark decisions on June 26, 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) definition of spouse as unconstitutional and, although it didn't reach the merits, effected the reinstatement of same-sex marriage in California.

These Supreme Court rulings will certainly have an impact on employers moving forward, both for their employee benefit plans and employers' policies. Join members of the Faegre Baker Daniels employment and benefits & executive compensation groups in a webinar to discuss the implications of these decisions and the key considerations for employers moving forward, including employer-sponsored retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and FMLA rights.
