David Williams named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2020 list of ‘Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting and Law’

Investment management partner David Williams has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ list of 2020 “Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting and Law.” The list highlights 56 professionals who have overcome challenges and bias to rise to the top of their professions.

In an exclusive profile, Crain’s Chicago Business highlighted Williams’ work for investment management clients, including his experience counseling investment advisers and fund boards on fund formation, regulatory requirements and corporate governance. The publication noted his work for a pre-eminent investment adviser serving as lead special counsel for environmental, social and corporate governance, and impact investing disclosure.

Crain’s Chicago Business also featured Williams’ involvement in diversity initiatives at Faegre Drinker. As co-vice chair of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee, he launched diversity continuing legal education programs and has conducted implicit-bias training. After the death of George Floyd and other incidents of police brutality, Williams led small group sessions across the firm to explore the impacts of systemic racism in society and at the firm.
