Tom Froehle, Kayla Britton and Ryan Marques Receive Leadership in Law Recognition from The Indiana Lawyer

Indiana Lawyer has named Tom Froehle, Kayla Britton and Ryan Marques of Faegre Baker Daniels winners of 2017 Leadership in Law Awards for their outstanding legal work and community contributions.

FaegreBD chair and managing partner Tom Froehle was named a Distinguished Barrister, an honor for lawyers who have practiced a minimum of 20 years. Indianapolis-based associates Kayla Britton and Ryan Marques received the Up and Coming Lawyer designation, intended for outstanding attorneys who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

Froehle was recognized for his leadership of the firm and within the community, along with his more than 20 year government and corporate practice. In an interview with Indiana Lawyer, Froehle explained why he became a lawyer, “I viewed being a lawyer as an opportunity to be part of an honorable profession, but also to be entrepreneurial and give back to the community."

Britton was recognized for her work in business, commercial and financial transactions, as well as in general business matters. She has experience in business reorganization, restructuring, and liquidation. She also advises clients on commercial transactions and distressed sales transactions. In her profile with Indiana Lawyer, she shared the best advice she received from a mentor, “Being a good lawyer does not mean being needlessly obstructionist. The best lawyers know when it is time to fight and when it is time to build consensus.”

Marques was recognized for his work as an immigration lawyer and as the Honorary Consul of Portugal to the State of Indiana. Ryan helps clients, both big and small, transfer employees across borders and manage immigration matters. In his profile with Indiana Lawyer, Marques shared why he chose his practice area of immigration, “I felt that with a law degree I would have the ability to make a difference in someone else’s life in trying to help alleviate what life throws at them, especially when you are living in a place that is not your country of birth.”
