Gross, Mewaldt, Stamski, Steffen and Wildung Named 2017 BTI Client Service All-Stars

Five partners from Faegre Baker Daniels have been selected as 2017 BTI Client Service All-Stars. FaegreBD’s All-Star attorneys are David J.F. Gross, Jennifer Mewaldt, Matt Stamski, James Steffen and Wendy Wildung. In addition, Mewaldt was noted as an MVP, designated for attorneys who clients say consistently set the standard for outstanding client service.

The All-Star designation is reserved for attorneys who stand out with corporate counsel for providing top client service. Clients recognize attorneys who demonstrate superior client focus and thought leadership, have an exceptional ability to understand their business, consistently exceed expectations, possess excellent legal skills and depth of knowledge, and deliver outstanding results. Only 319 attorneys were selected for recognition in 2017.

David J.F. Gross is a trial lawyer for the firm's intellectual property practice—he splits his time between the firm's Silicon Valley and Minneapolis offices. He has achieved national success in his IP and medical technology practices. David has been repeatedly named among the top litigators in his respective areas. He was recognized as an All-Star for his IP practice by a global industrial giant.

Jennifer Mewaldt practices in the areas of debt and equity financing, business acquisitions and dispositions, securities regulation, and general corporate counseling. Jennifer has represented institutional lenders and venture capital and other investors, as well as borrowers and issuers, in numerous secured and unsecured private debt and equity financings and Rule 144A transactions. In connection with her financing practice, she has developed an expertise in subordination and inter-creditor issues. This is the second year she has been noted for her work in capital markets and securities in the BTI Client Service All-Star survey. She was nominated by a leading manufacturing company. 

Matt Stamski practices general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture financings, securities offerings, and commercial contracts. Matt represents both buyers and sellers in negotiating, structuring and executing mergers and acquisitions. In addition to M&A transactions, Matt devotes a significant portion of his practice to counseling emerging companies. He was recognized for his corporate practice by a leading life sciences company.

James Steffen serves the legal needs of corporate marketing officers and the in-house counsel that represent them, with particular emphasis on contentious and non-contentious trademark and advertising law matters. Jim has represented Target, Target Brands and Target's other various subsidiaries in dozens of trademark, copyright and unfair competition actions across the United States. He has also advised Target Brands with respect to international IP issues. Jim was recognized for his trademark, copyright, advertising and media practice by a prominent professional services firm.

Wendy Wildung practices trial and appellate work on a broad range of business disputes, with a particular emphasis on securities litigation and legal disputes involving publicly held companies. She has handled cases in more than 40 federal and state courts across the country and more than 70 class actions. Wendy has tried more than 30 cases to conclusion in areas including securities, real estate transactions, franchising, insurance, lending, leasing and partnerships. Wendy was noted for her litigation and advocacy practice by a global industrial giant.
