Drinker Biddle IP Lawyers Ranked in World Trademark Review 1000 for 2015

Drinker Biddle's Intellectual Property Practice Group has been ranked in the World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR 1000) for 2015. The Washington, D.C. and Chicago practices were rated, as well as individual lawyers.

The Chicago office was rated Bronze in the Illinois listings, with a special mention for partner Darren Cahr:

“The trademark attorneys at general commercial firm Drinker Biddle & Reath routinely draw on the expertise of other practice groups to provide clients with a well-rounded legal service. A persuasive choice on the national stage, the firm excels in Chicago with the cerebral Darren Cahr, ‘a wonderful trial lawyer with a firm grasp of the law. Smart, funny and a real incisive thinker, he is someone you can always learn something new and useful from.’ He is a nationwide thought leader on the interface between social media and intellectual property.”

The Washington, D.C., office was also rated Bronze in the D.C. Metro area for “Prosecution and Strategy;” Jennifer Dean and Norm St Landau were singled out:

“Clients of all stripes are ‘very satisfied’ with Drinker Biddle & Reath’s trademark practice: ‘They don’t waste time and their fees are reasonable for the quality of their work and the manner in which it is delivered.’ Seamless interaction between all divisions of this full-service outfit mean that the IP group can rise to a variety of complex challenges with rare facility. Chairing the team is the ‘smart, fast and practical’ Jennifer Dean. With expertise in merchandising and the entertainment industry, Norm St Landau is a favourite [sic] for trademark clearance and portfolio management instructions from creative entrepreneurs and those seeking imaginative branding solutions.”

The WTR 1000, a British publication, is comprised of in-depth jurisdiction-specific chapters that analyze the local market and identify leading practitioners and firms. Over a four-month period, analysts conducted more than 1,300 interviews with trademark specialists in more than 60 key jurisdictions. Interviewees’ opinions were specifically sought on the firms and practitioners that are leading the field in terms of their work, their skills and their levels of client service.

All individuals named on the list were included because the World Trademark Review received substantial positive feedback about them.
