International Arbitration

Overview

Our attorneys apply advocacy, strategic insights, and knowledge of international business laws and procedure to represent domestic and multinational clients in arbitrations around the world. From the outset of any transaction, we provide informed counsel on determining the appropriate law and jurisdiction for each case. We regularly conduct arbitration in front of the major international arbitration institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), as well as ad hoc arbitrations using the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) rules. With offices in key arbitration centers (London, New York, Shanghai, and Washington, D.C.), and support from our offices across the United States, we are well placed to guide our clients on the law of the seat of arbitration. Crucially, our attorneys work together to leverage our experience across borders. Corporate and M&A-related disputes are a central part of our practice. We work across a wide range of industry sectors, including financial services, energy and natural resources, technology, hospitality, advertising, and telecommunications, to serve our clients. Our close links to the world's leading networks of independent law firms, Lex Mundi and the World Law Group, mean that we can effectively and efficiently assist with any questions on the enforcement of international arbitration awards in any jurisdiction. And we assist in pre-international arbitration investigations and formal and informal settlement discussions.
