Overview
Ming Russell assists clients in the financial sector with leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, refinancing, acquisitions and growth capital. She has experience structuring, negotiating and documenting first and second lien credit facilities, asset-based loans, cash-flow loans, mezzanine loans, intercreditor and subordination agreements, and other transactional documentation. She draws on her experience with multinational clients to provide guidance through the most complex mergers and acquisitions, general transactional and corporate matters.
Prior Experience
Ming served as a corporate and finance associate in Chicago before joining Faegre Drinker. Her clients have included large commercial banks and middle market financial institutions, as well as privately and publicly held companies.
She received her law degree from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2016 with a con-centration in International Law. While in law school, she competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot on Northwestern's Vis Moot Team, worked for The Center for International Human Rights at the Bloom Legal Clinic, and served as a Business and Alumni Director of the Women's Leadership Coalition and as the Executive Articles Editor of the Northwestern Journal of International Human Rights.
She received her M.A. in French Language and Civilization from New York University in 2009, and B.A. in English and American Literature with departmental honors, magna cum laude, with minors in French and Cinema Studies, from New York University in 2003.
Before entering law school, Ming worked as a literary agent and represented authors in sales and contract negotiations with publishers regarding book and media rights. She was also a member of the technical and quality management team performing audit, compliance and regulatory work for Nestlé, Nespresso in the United States and Canada.
Ming is fluent in French.

Pro Bono
Ming is committed to serving her local and global communities through pro bono service with a focus on international human rights. She has provided pro bono counsel to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Heartland Alliance, Alma-TQ, The Initiative for Equal Rights, and the International Justice Mission, per-formed international fieldwork in Malawi with The Governance and Justice Group, provided assistance to the Rolling Meadows Domestic Violence Help Desk and the National Immigrant Justice Center, and acted as pro bono intern for an international AmLaw 50 firm during her study of international law at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
