Environmental Regulatory, Enforcement and Transactional Issues
Chris advises clients on complex permitting, enforcement, environmental review, information requests and regulatory engagement matters. He advocates on behalf of clients with the Environmental Protection Agency and state agencies. He also assists clients with environmental due diligence and indemnity issues associated with the acquisition or divestiture of assets. In every matter, Chris works to manage and reduce clients’ environmental risk and liability.
Chris helps clients develop, implement and evaluate environmental sustainability programs and policies. He assists clients in developing achievable metrics and goals related to reducing impacts to climate, water, air and land. Working with his clients, Chris helps develop stakeholder engagement strategies to meet sustainability objectives.
Chris has significant experience working with clients in the animal agriculture, chemical, oil and gas, energy and manufacturing sectors.
Prior to joining the firm, Chris worked as a McCleary law fellow with the Human Rights Campaign. Before beginning his legal career, he was executive director of Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Drives, an organization that collected food for Twin Cities food shelves.
