Indian Tribe Refinances Bonds

United States - Wisconsin

An Indian tribe issued new tax-exempt bonds to refund the tribe’s existing bonds and to fund improvements to the tribe’s gaming facilities. Our firm represented the tribe as issuer’s counsel and bond counsel in the transaction. A portion of the tax-exempt bonds was issued as tribal economic development bonds, or TED Bonds, which were used to fund construction of new hotel improvements and to refund the portion of the tribe’s existing taxable bonds that financed qualifying projects.
