DOJ Prosecutes Defrauding of 122 Investors in Virginia

The U.S. Department of Justice prosecuted a $270 million securities fraud case against the founder and owner of a financial services company. Henry Van Dyck served as co-lead counsel in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The owner was charged with defrauding 122 investors through false assurances that customers’ securities were protected by hedged transactions. After charges were brought, the defendant pled guilty.
