DOJ Prosecutes Securities Defrauding of 5000 Investors in Indiana

The U.S. Department of Justice prosecuted a $250 million securities fraud case against the CEO, COO and CFO of a financial services company. Henry Van Dyck served as co-lead counsel in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The defendants were charged with defrauding approximately 5,000 individual investors through a scheme using circular transactions and intercompany notes. Following a two-week jury trial, all three were convicted. The CEO received a 50-year sentence.
