Overview

Tom Prible supports clients in the medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer product, sports, and education sectors through all phases of civil litigation. Tom has experience litigating in a variety of contexts — from single-plaintiff cases to complex multidistrict litigation — and has won victories for clients in court, through dispositive motions practice, and in negotiating settlement agreements that clients have found favorable.

Tom also consults with businesses to ensure regulatory, administrative, and professional licensure compliance, and helps clients navigate contract disputes amicably to avoid possible litigation. His versatile and broad experience allows him to collaborate closely with clients to understand their goals and develop strategies to help them attain those objectives.

Pro Bono

He prioritizes service to the community. Tom was a recipient of the firm’s 2024 Pro Bono Award for his contributions to an Iowa voters’ rights case, and he recently won asylum from the immigration court for a client from a war-torn African nation.

Prior Experience

Tom’s previous work as a legal professional includes being a summer associate and law clerk with another firm and serving as a judicial clerk with the Marion County Superior Court No. 5, under Judge John Chavis.

Law is a second career for Tom after spending two decades as a teacher. While teaching across multiple grade levels and facilitating mastery and accessibility for students from diverse backgrounds, he held multiple leadership roles, including middle school director, department chair, and accreditation team leader. As a beloved faculty member, Tom was also the recipient of the 2018 Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Grant.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Tom enjoys being a father to three girls. A lifelong musician, he enjoys playing guitar and piano and is always looking for live music events to attend. Tom loves to stay physically active through running, weightlifting and hiking.
