Overview
Spencer McAllister delivers solutions-oriented counsel to employers to ensure HR policies comply with local, state and national employment laws. A client-oriented litigator, Spencer brings a sharp analytical mindset and strong writing and research skills to every matter. He is known for his adaptability, intellectual curiosity and collaborative approach to solving complex legal challenges in the workplace and beyond.
Prior Experience
Before joining Faegre Drinker, Spencer worked as a litigation associate at an Am Law 50 firm, representing clients across the technology, energy, manufacturing and luxury retail sectors in U.S. District Courts and in Delaware and California state courts. His experience spans securities litigation, regulatory and employment disputes, as well as government and internal investigations. He has drafted dispositive motions, discovery materials and correspondence; managed large-scale document reviews and productions; and prepared deposition materials and investigative reports. Spencer also gained legal and policy experience through internships with the general counsel of a national security services company, where he drafted contracts, conducted multijurisdictional legal research, and wrote on topics such as tort liability and arbitration.
Before attending law school, Spencer worked with a reproductive rights advocacy organization, coordinating public health initiatives and engaging in legislative outreach. His academic background includes award-winning research on historical legal treatment of gender nonconformity, for which he received recognition in women’s and gender history.
Personal Interests
Outside of the office, Spencer enjoys hiking, attending museums and reading historical nonfiction.

Pro Bono
Spencer’s pro bono work includes supporting expungement efforts, compassionate release motions, and legal research on veterans’ rights and constitutional issues related to diversity scholarships.
