Overview

Kate Kachmer supports clients in establishing and protecting the value of their businesses’ intellectual property assets.

Prior Experience

Drawing on a foundation of legal research, public service and a commitment to equity, Kate brings a thoughtful, community-centered perspective to her legal practice. As a summer associate with the firm, she gained exposure to a broad range of practice areas by conducting legal research, drafting motions and gaining client-facing experience. Aligned with the firm’s commitment to pro bono practice, she contributed to a variety of pro bono matters during her summers with the firm. 

During law school, Kate participated as a legal fellow with The Policing Project in New York City. She contributed to legal and policy initiatives aimed at promoting accountability and transparency in policing. Kate’s main focuses during her fellowship included conducting legal research on Fourth Amendment law, engaging in legislative and policy analysis, and developing public safety toolkits and educational materials for communities around the United States. Kate also served as a research assistant to Professor Avani Mehta Sood, supporting in research on the intersection between neuropsychology and criminal law. 

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Kate loves to spend her time outdoors. She enjoys hiking, skiing and camping on the weekends. When she isn’t in the mountains, Kate spends her time playing a variety of intermural sports and trying new restaurants with friends and family.
